About us
A Los Angeles initiative focused on supporting first-generation and immigrant communities.
Through resource redistribution, small business amplification, and showing up in times of crisis.
Impact breakdown
300+
We partner with FoodCycle to donate excess food from every shoot. Our certified food handlers ensure nothing goes to waste.
$5K+
For the Palisades Fire, we raised over $5K and donated 100% of the proceeds directly to the businesses lost.
100%
All profits are reinvested in the community. We create free marketing tools for first-gen and immigrant-owned businesses that have never had access to these resources.
The founder
"Small businesses aren’t just part of this city, they’re what make it feel like one.
My appreciation for Los Angeles is rooted in its diversity and the people behind it. "
— Sabrina Canario
What started as a media platform grew into something bigger: a vehicle for real redistribution. Like a Friend Gives is the giving arm of that vision. Turning audience and influence into tangible resources for the people who need it most.
OUR STORY
Like a Friend Gives was born from the belief that media and marketing are tools, and like any tool, they're most powerful in the right hands. For too long, visibility has been a resource only available to those who already have resources.
Why we give.
We use the reach of Like a Friend Said, 20K+ followers across platforms, not just to recommend great spots in LA, but to actively redirect that attention toward businesses and communities that have historically been overlooked.
Whether that means donating excess food through FoodCycle, fundraising for businesses lost in the Palisades Fire, or creating free marketing assets for first-generation business owners.
